I'm new to this site and I don't belong to any other forums.
I have attended AA meetings. I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks and started out drinking to control those. Now I just drink, about a year ago my drinking got bad. Since them I now have cravings for it. Today I woke up and said to myself... This is it! So I joined here and will be contributing and reading everything on here.
I knowitwon't be easy, but I am determined and WILL conquer this.

I learned many wonderful ways to continue on
my journey in recovery listening and learning
from many others who have stayed sober or
clean for a many one days at a time. One
important one was to use a program of recovery
such as AA or NA and countless other options
to help not drink.
Then to use your doctors, physicians to help
medically for our internal bodies. When we
put toxins or drugs in our systems it usually
screws up everything. It cause our inner system
to become unbalanced.
I first learned how to stay sober then i went
to my doctor for other issues dealing with my
chemical embalance. For me, it took a yr.
to find the right answer to incoperate with
my AA program of recovery.
I did make sure that my physician knew right
off the bat that I was in recovery and if any
meds were to be prescribed that they were not
narcotic nor habit forming so it would not interfere
with my alcoholism and recovery.
When we use each program, tools, knowledge
to our advantage we learn to live a heathier,
happier, honest life in recovery for years to come.

Welcome Ritalola!
I can relate...... There was a time when alcohol worked for me, too, but it turned into a vicious cycle of depression/anxiety and just waking up miserable every day.
Things got so much better when I found this forum and got sober. Take it a day (or an hour) at a time - it can be tough at first but it gets easier as you go.
Congratulations on your decision!
