"What’s the point, I know I’m just going to mess up again. Hi, I’m Lysa TerKeurst for Proverbs 31 Ministries. I knew I had a tendency to process my emotions in an unhealthy way---explode with angry words or stuff it down while saying, “I’m fine” but not really feeling fine at all. After many failed attempts and many cries of frustration I realized what was keeping me from change. It was the feeling that I wouldn’t do it perfectly. I knew I would still mess up so what was the point? Sometimes we think if we don’t make instant progress then real change isn’t coming. Well that is not true. There is a beautiful thing called imperfect progress. It comes when we take slow steps of progress wrapped in grace. The day I realized this is the day I gave myself permission to believe I really could be different. I challenged myself to just start having one better reaction each day. Little steps forward, imperfect progress- that’s what we need."
