So I went to my first AA Meeting tonight. I'm not really sure what I thought of it though. I felt strange and out of place - although I am sure that this is normal for your first time.
I have had a truly great day! I was so productive and got so much off my desk!! It's funny how much you can accomplish when you are not battling the fog of a hangover!
I also had a bit of a proud moment that I would like to share.....a client of mine stopped by with a thank you gift for some work I had done for their company and lo and behold I open it and it is a beautiful Jack Daniels gift set. Well immediately I starting salivating (and I don't even drink whiskey!) and I considered bringing it home for my "boyfriend" but I knew that if it made it in my door I would be in big trouble......so I re-gifted it to a co-worker!!
I am so happy that I have this place to come to at the end of the day!!!

Good job! I didn't feel comfortable at my first AA meetings, but I wanted to quit more than I wanted to drink and I knew that was the place to do it.
It worked! Took me awhile, but it worked. Try different meetings if you can. Look for the similarities instead of the differences.
