A little less lost...

Hello all, I hope you are having a good day. I am having a pretty good day, its my number 60th sober, after hopefully my last relapse ever. Things really do improve, internally and externally, once I sobered up. Sure, the everyday problems still exist, but I can approach them with a rational sober mind, rather than an emotional intoxicated mind. It really feels good to be part of the real world again. Thanks SR and its participants, you all are invaluable to me..

Congratulations, losteverything! I felt the same way after I got sober.... it was so much easier dealing with things.

That's wonderful news, lost. It's amazing how we think we're helping ourselves cope by drinking. We become so emotional and on edge. It actually just makes everything harder to deal with. As you said, handling things with a sober, rational mind is such a relief.
