I can't stop the insanity of this whole thing. Don't know what to do about it. I know what the answer is, but I am not strong enough or courageous enough to do this anymore.

I see it's been awhile since you posted, about 8 months or so. Are you drinking now? It's okay, Eclipse. I'm just wondering if there is someone you can call to come and be with you.

The insanity stops when you get of the merry go round of drinking . it took a lot more effort, stress and worry for me to stay drinking than quitting and staying quit .

Drinking really is the pits imho ..

Bestwishes, M

Hi Eclipse, you are strong enough because you're still working to get/stay sober,

May as well hang around with us while you're doing that

If you can, keep writing about what you're feeling so you can start to untangle the confusion and get less lost x

Drinking is exhausting. There is so much work involved in getting it, hiding it, trying to act sober when you aren't. Why am I doing this? I have been going to AA, but still drink, sometimes before a meeting, what is the point? I got a DUI that I have to deal with and just can't get sober long enough to deal with with it. It is making me crazy.

Eclipse

You said you are not strong enough or courageous enough to do this any more.

I say you are not strong enough or courageous enough to do this any less.

We don't always see our strengths. But you show them a lot on SR. Trust me. Let those of us here who see things from the outside reassure you that you are doing it.

It is craziness huh?

How is that house cleaning going? Did you make any new changes to things?

Sort through any more cosmetics! Lol wink wink.

Yes, you will feel better if you stop! Definitely!

There is nothing harder or more exhausting than doing what you're doing. X

spinning around in your addiction is way more exhausting than getting sober. I hope you take our word for it...

keep coming back here, good luck!

Drinking is exhausting, Eclipse. Then add all the stuff we had to do to keep drinking and it's down right excruciating.

You CAN do this and you will feel so much better in the long run.

Leap of faith, Eclipse. Leap of faith. Believe it because it's true. Take that leap, Eclipse.

That sure takes me right back to how it was ..

Will I really feel better if I stop?
I feel better, it's peaceful and nice in a gentle way , from what i read by other posters with lots more time than me it's true for them as well , there ain't much special about me , my recovery or my old drinking days ...

How do I get there?
Make it your top priority, nothing comes before it , read learn and understand as much as you can and be persisitant .. It took 10 years for me to get it, from when i first thought i really need to stop this thing it is killing me (26) .. i had a small period of 7 months sobriety when i was about 29 then that was it till i was 36

Bestwishes, M

OMG i felt the same way.
I drank before and after every meeting.
and hiding it was the worst feelling ever.

we (I) all know how you feel, just start typing and get it all out.

When you go to the meeting next time, find someone you think you will be comfortable with and say hey I think i need some help. And if you Listen, really LISTEN, you will get sober. I promise, as this is how i did it and I was hopeless.

Hi Eclipse...so many good things said on this site we all know exactly where your coming from. Full time drinking is like a full time job. Seriously , liquor store stops, hiding being drunk , hiding bottles , feeling sick and on and on. Too much effort for what the outcome is.

So you got a DUI that sucks , but again one of the things that happens when we are in this craziness!!! You can deal with it. Stop drinking get a little clear headed and just put one foot in front of the other. Do what they tell you to do ( court) this to shall pass .

We are all here ..keep posting..take care of you.
