Why would he need money in rehab?
Sodas, snacks, cigarettes, phone calls.
I think it's perfectly fine to give him nothing because he's put you in Financial strights.
But it's also okay to give him $5 if they have vending machines if you want to do so.
If you don't, do not feel one bit guilty.

He wanted money for cigarettes to take to rehab. I went with him to check in to rehab but I did not buy him any cigarettes. I can't anyways, I have no money, I am supporting our kids on my own.
Now my problem is I'm worried that once they let him out he is going to try to convince me to let him have some of our tax return to pay the bill. I do not feel he deserves any of the money. If I think about all the money he has shorted me and stolen from me, his half of the return won't even begin to cover it. However, I still fell guilty, like it is partly his money too. Please help me to understand that I DO NOT OWE HIM ANY MONEY WHATSOEVER!
