Update :)
Haven't posted in a bit, but need to update...
If you have followed my posts then you know about my mom. She was an AM. Now, happily (!) she is a RAM. We had some emails go back and forth a few weeks ago and I dropped the rope. I don't know what did it for her, but she joined AA and she will be getting her 30 day chip TODAY!!
She has been doing really well and she is actually enjoying her sobriety. It is so weird, but fantastic.
I have been doing way better too. Gaining perspective and distance and letting her do her thing, but we are talking a bit more now and our time together is more pleasant than it has been in years.
I am liking this new normal. Liking it a lot.

I''m so happy for you! Enjoy your relief. But be prepared for an occasional slip. I hope she will not have one but it may just happen. My AF was 80 before he quit with AA's help and he never drank again. So there is hope!
