What Is The Solution? It's better than my way!
My sponsor just had me do this assignment .
What is the solution. It appears in The Big Book Chapter 2 and here it is summarized .
The Solution- is the self- searching, the leveling of my pride, the confession of my shortcomings .
The Solution-I have to approach those with whom the problem had been solved .
The Solution-I have to accept spiritual help .
The Solution-I have to pick up the simple kit of spiritual tools .
The Solution-I have to make the effort .
The Solution- I have to fully concede to my innermost self that I am alcoholic .
The Solution- I have to smash the delusion that I am like other people .
The Solution-I have to maintain a certain simple attitude .
The Solution-I must not hold onto any reservations of any kind .
The Solution-I must not hold onto any ideas that I will someday be immune to alcohol .
The Solution- I have to follow the Big Book which outlines the spiritual answer and lays out the program of action which the first 100 followed successfully.
The Solution-I have to accept that my defense must come from a higher power .
I know now I on my own am powerless over this illness .
The Solution- I have to fully disclose myself and my problems , I have to be persuaded that I am an alcoholic too .
I have found a solution but it does require effort .
Some days I am not always willing to put forth the effort it requires, but today I know if I put it off, I am in a short time slipping back into old thinking and behaviors .
I don't like myself when I fall into old behaviors .
I don't ever want to fall into the desperation of wanting a drink again .
The Big Book does give clear cut directions on how the first 100 recovered .
I think I will take there word for it and quit questioning it.
I do believe it may be the easier softer way .

The way I've come to understand my recovery is that I have to point my feet in the right direction. And I have to take a set of steps. But the real source of power comes from my higher power and the universal love of the fellowship.
