Starting over from scratch

Hi,

So I'm starting over again this time from scratch. I have had to get medically detoxes twice. One for a seizure and this time cause I was so scared at having another one, I decided to go to the er to do it which was a good move cause I almost felt another seizure coming on after one day of quitting. So hear I am, counting this as the first day since I don't want to use my hospital days but can already feel the urge to run to the store. I'm hoping to over come this by keeping busy and hopefully by then it's too late. Hope this works!

Thanks

I do have a plan. I will try an aa meeting tomorrow night and then start an intensive outpatient program on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, then will give aa another tr Friday. First time in this outpatient program but I've heard great things about it and had to go through a screening process to get in. It's just I don't have a plan for tonight.

Well I screwed up again. Back to day 1 tomorrow. Just hoping to beat my current goal of 17 days. One question, how do people deal with friends that drink and do you tell them about your issues? Only reason I ask is I am going to a friends going away party in 2 weeks and I know I can make it till then, but I'm nervous that this could be a major setback. Thanks

I came up against that again and again Rock.
My life was based on and around drinking and had been for many years.

Eventually I realised that trying to stay sober without changing my life was like fighting with one hand tied behind my back.

I had to decline some invitations for a while and even cut a few people out of my life.
It was rough, but I really wanted to be sober, y'know?
