Sick and sober.

So I've gotten an absolutely vicious cold that has moved into my chest and I look, sound and feel awful.

What's different about me being this sick while sober, is I'm disappointed that I'm going to have to miss the gym for a few days while I recuperate.

In the past, I wouldn't have been disappointed, but down right angry that being sick was cutting into my drinking time!

I was a very sick man back then and I'm not talking about a cold.

Ha, that's the difference between you and me. At my alcoholic worst, I would be absolutely thrilled to come down with the a bad flu, because that meant I couldn't go to work. And if I couldn't go to work, well then, I COULD drink. Sick, isn't it?

Ugh!! Xune, me too!! I think everyone in my office got that nasty cold/virus and same thing for me, I was so knocked out of it that I literally could do nothing but just rest for a few days. Hope you heal up soon. I love the exercise too.

Im sick today too. Was getting ready for church and I vomited. It was weird all around. I felt strange because its been longer than 20 years since I threw up sober! I froze for a minute trying to think of a reason this was happening to me. In the past I always knew the reason. When I finished I was anticipating the shakes and headache that did not arrive.

My wife was looking at me strange, as if she wondered for a second if I was drinking again. Though she knew I was sober and with her the whole time. Then she went on without me.

Im happy to be sick and sober, clear headed and here on SR.

Hope you all feel better soon. It's no fun being sick, and it leaves you vulnerable, so good for you for sticking to your plans!
