I'm new!
Hey everyone, this is the first time I'm seriously trying to help myself with my drinking problem. I'm 29, and a little scared of everything. It's been just 2 days that i don't drink, but I've been considering it for years. I've tried before but it never worked out, so I want to believe that it was not a 'serious' attempt, although it was, and I failed. That's why I'm scared this time.
Happy to hear from you

Hi Marta - welcome
I made a lot of attempts too - for me coming here and having support made all the difference - that, and finally being prepared to make whatever necessary changes to my life to stay sober
Never give in - you'll make it
I know you'll find a lot of support here

Welcome, marta!
Big life changes always feel scary. Just take it a day at a time. Don't drink today.
Then, tomorrow, do the same thing.
I found going to AA right off the bat got me off to a really good start. It gave me something to look forward to, every day, to strengthen my commitment and give me something positive to do toward my recovery.

You're here. That means you didn't give up. So, while you didn't stay sober, you haven't failed.
Take heart, this is a great site. You can learn a lot here. There are many paths to sobriety, one of them will work for you.

Welcome to the family, marta! We're very happy you found us.
I think being part of our community will be helpful for you. I felt so much better knowing I wasn't alone. Everyone understood what I was going through - and I was able to let go of my life long habit.
Keep posting and reading - you'll find a lot of encouragement and support.

Hey marta, welcome to SR!! Many of us have been right where you're at too. Feel free to share more, there are plenty of people who can share their experiences and hope.
I went to rehab years ago and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I learned a lot about me and also picked up some good coping skills so I could deal with life better sober rather than picking up a bottle.
Glad I did it. I recently relapsed but have gotten back on track and I know it's because I'm doing all the things I learned the first time around.
Life can be so much better. Good luck and hope you'll stick around.

Hi Marta,
Welcome!
I was scared too when I stopped drinking. Change is always hard and finding a way to live your life without drinking will be a big change, but you can do this.
