You are making a wise decision to go to treatment. It's a wonderful opportunity and a great starting point. I am also leaving for treatment soon.

Welcome to SR and hope you will stick around and keep checking in!

Do it. You sound like you are ready. Take it seriously this time. I went into in-patient treatment for 21 days over the summer. I did not really want to go, but the writing was on the wall. I figured that since I was going to actually DO IT, then I might as well take it seriously.

Here's some advice: There were plenty of people in rehab who were joking and sneaking around in my facility. Keep your distance. For us, we were not allowed to have cell phones, but some guys snuck them in and offered me a chance to use it. Even something that seems minor, like that, is breaking the rules. Stay on the right path. Show up to the lectures on time, show up for breakfast on time. Go to your discussions and be ready to participate if asked. Don't be afraid to be the smart kid, don't be afraid to be seen as a goody-goody.

In short, you're there - so take it seriously. Good luck and congrats!!!

Sorry to read this Jake but wishing you all the best. It sounds like you have had a lightbulb moment, which I'm sure will help you enormously.

Stay strong, thinking of you.
