going nowhere
Well, you are here now. Welcome.
Lot of folks post once and never return. I think of them as people who have failed to grasp a life ring that has been tossed their way.
Don't let that be you. You are here, thinking about sobriety. You can do this.

There's nothing to be ashamed of Mupp. I hope you come back. It took me a few months before I came back after the first time I posted here but it helped to know there was a place I could come to when I was ready to get help. Oh, and 34 is an excellent age to get sober Please stick around x
9 days ago I drank 4 bottles of wine, a pint of JD and a 6 pack of IPA.
8 days ago I was sick and ashamed and on this website.
Today I feel pretty damn good and full of hope.
Come back when you're ready. We're open 24/7.

I think a lot of us can identify with your post Mupp.
There is another way to live - if you want it
It takes some work and some changes, but it's the best decision I ever made.
This place really helped me turn my life around. It helped me find my dignity again, my inner strength and my hope.
I really hope you come back

Hello Mupp,
Drinking made me feel awful, i carried on doing it till i was 36 . I haven't gone anywhere much in my life in my sober 16 months but it is a whole lot nicer to live on a day by day basis than when i was drinking .
Bestwishes, M

Try not to beat yourself up. Many times I looked in the mirror and hated what I saw but could not change. I went to meetings while drunk. Took classes while still drinking. The important thing was that I kept coming back. You posted here so there is some knowledge of a problem. Lots of good stuff on this site and post again when you feel comfortable. Remember that you are not alone.
hey mupp,
you joined in september, and now you posted. you may or may not look to see if anyone answered you.
well, we are. here. today. and tomorrow. and the day after that.
one of the very first things to change for me was the shame i'd carried around while drinking started to lift.
good to see you here.
