He won't go to ER..says he is 'fine'

So, yes, I was upset, told him to keep it down then, all the talking to himself and growling sounds. I go back upstairs and I hear a hard thump on the floor and a gurgling sound. So, back downstairs, he's fine, just pretending to sleep until I ask a benign question about where something is and he says he doesn't know. Ok, he can talk, not seizing, so he is just f'ing with me to get attention then? Ugh. I know I am probably a classic definition of a Codie, but how do you NOT respond to something like that? How could I have gotten to sleep not knowing if he was crying wolf?

If you aren't sure, just call the ambulance and tell them what's happening. If he's faking it, he will have to deal with the embarrassment and the expense of the lie. At least then you won't have to worry!

I'd give him a heads up, if he doesn't respond I'd call an ambulance. They are very good actors, my mother and my exabf both should have been on the stage, their true calling.

I will tell you that my exabf believed me after I called 911 on him, he stopped the BS...if he was really sick, then he should have been in the hospital and I was going to get him there!

My first post on this forum was just after the ambulance pulled away with my AH.

My abf has done this a couple of times. I agree with the others, give him a warning and if he doesnt respond call the emt's. If mine ever does this again I plan on doing the samething. They are amazing actors.

Thumbs up

It is and was sad how I placed my family
in an uncomfortable, uncertain, thrown
out of sorts position with my attempted
suicide. Saying that word, writing those
words seem so final, so desperate, so
selfish in wanting to escape the situation
I placed myself in due to the lies, drinking,
and all that came with my addiction.

Today, some 22 yrs sober, still take full
responsibility for my actions and all I put
and placed upon my family thru yrs ago.

I am also extremely grateful that my family
sought answers and guidance in getting me
help I so desperately needed at that time in my
life because I would have denied I had any problems
and would have never sought any kind of help
because I was FINE.

It was my family who did for me what I certainly
couldnt have dont for myself.

Thank you all so much for your advice! *big hugs* After the 4th full day, I threatened to call 911 and he got scared it meant he would get in trouble (alcoholic paranoia) and he went! He's still there now, infection resulting from alcohol, and sobering up. You guys are awesome. Just wanted to say that. Pray for us, that he will take the subsequent help being offered while there.
