I been sober for 4 months...

one day at a time being sober and feeling good most days but its hard living with an alcoholic.I been with him for23 years.. and 2 teenager that think thats what life is all about and mommy takes all the responsibilities.. my 16 year old girl moved out to live in Alberta with her cousin and my 18 year old is done school and party's every day...i need to set boundries..but finding it hard i say one thing and they just don't listen

to the family! I suggest you look at the friends and family forum for advice from people who have been in your situation. I'm glad you found us.

Welcome. And congratulation on your sobriety. Your family situation is quite familiar to me. I wish I had some advice to share, but I to am trying to figure this one out. Remember you and your sobriety come first. That I'm sure of. Good luck and keep reading sr lots of good info here.

Hey donna, welcome to SR. Congrats on your 4 months sobriety, excellent!! Hope you come back, and I agree, boundaries are healthy and you should have them to keep you happy and healthy.

I hit 4 months a couple weeks ago, and I know what you mean about being with an alcoholic. It sucks.

It makes me angry, personally, that I can do this, so why can't he?

I am so glad that someone else knows what I am talking about though, I really needed to hear this, I am currently complaining about it on another website as I type. Thank you so much!
