Less than 24 hours
until Lucy (the dog) is leaving with my sister to go back to the east coast. :'''(

I've been crying and sleeping all day. Last night I REALLY wanted a drink. After my first dog died, I drank. After my mom died, I drank.
After giving up this dog....I did NOT drink.
....to be honest, I did smoke a little weed last night. And? It did nothing. The pain was dulled a bit, but also my experience with the dog was dulled a bit. All in all, not worth it.
No matter HOW MUCH something hurts, it's just easier to feel the pain and go through it. Cry as much as you want, lock yourself in your room & sob, scream into your pillow, walk around town pouting like a 5-year old for a week.
All of those options are better than drinking or drugging.
No matter how strong your AV is. Remember, your AV wants you dead. No matter how much pain I've experienced in my life, I sure as **** don't want to be dead.

Bravo. Well said. Thank you for your posts. And from one animal lover to another: I am truly sorry for your loss. I see another wonderful dog in your future for you to love and to be loved by. They sure are special animals aren't they?
