you can do it, we've all been where you're at...find some face to face support and keep posting.

What's behind the "scared" of failing?

My fear of doing nothing and continuing to kill myself with alcohol was greater than my fear of trying to quit and failing. At least if I work for sobriety, I have a hope. If I just give up, I have nothing. Everyone here has been on day one. You can do it! What's your plan to stay sober?

You have a brother. Day 1.

On a trip to an AA room some years ago a gentleman said something I found simple and obvious, yet profound. "I can't stay sober for the rest of my life today. I can only stay sober today, today."

There is success in being sober just today, I think.

There is no "I think" Being sober a day is an accomplishment to be celebrated. Everyday day I thank my hire power for a day of sobriety. Doing this a day at a time has worked out well for me and many many others!

Pleased to meet you, Caravagio.

I was afraid to fail, too. I had done it so often in the past, but I didn't really give it an honest effort. The last time - I was determined. I knew I had to reclaim my life. That's when I found SR. Not being alone made all the difference. You can do this.

Caravagio.... One of my favorite artists! You have company also from me, here. Trying for a real Day 1 tomorrow. I have been tapering down and it has helped; each morning I wake up more alert and like myself.

Although I have not been a heavy drinker it is enough that I have been worried about quitting CT (not so young anymore, and the blood pressure thing scared me a bit) but it is time to give it a real try, so tomorrow is the day. 3 of us here? (You, Nonsensical and me?) I am going to subscribe to this thread and try to hang in there with you two as companions.

May we all have strength.
