your not your friend !!
your the only one who can give in and drink.
just tell yourself that TODAY your not having a drink, or even just right now,
dont look to far ahead to the weekend or something else, just keep things NOW
if your not drinking right this second then your winning.
hours add up to days add up to weeks

Hello from one brit to another. It's tough but just how tough do you want it to be? Remember this, your addiction only has the power you give it, it can only influence your thoughts, only you can create your actions, "it" is powerless over your physical being. It wants to use you to do "it's" work!! Hang in there my friend. Your doing great and when in doubt come back here to Sr

Your friend has the same problem you do by the sound of it. Think of it this way, you can give in and have a massive dose of guilt afterwards, or you can stay strong for yourself and maybe he will also come along for the ride and stay sober as well.
Peer pressure is awful. If you can admit to friends you have a problem it instantly becomes easier because they should support you. If you can't admit it then you have two choices. Learn to cope or abandon your friends. None of this is easy but you deserve to be sober and strong.

peer pressure isnt that hard, as i think alot of the pressure is our own pressure.
we make up things in our head that never happen.
i was worried at my staff christmas party that everyone would ask why i wasnt drinking.
made up lotsa stories, asked my sponsor about how to answer, almost didnt go.
when i got there and ordered seltzer, no one even asked
