Question 24 days sober and feeling crappy

I want to eat healthy and exercise but I cant exercise because I have no energy and I have a constant headache. (24 days off alcohol and adderal) I feel bloated, fat, foggy, and lethargic. I am grateful that I am not drinking but damn, I am hibernating. I just wanna eat Chinese take out and candy, and sleep. I can't even have an orgasm. I got black-out drunk everyday for the last 2 years, and drank heavily the last 15. I am 30 years old, and healthy besides the raging alcoholism. I know my body is detoxing but I could use some pointers on how to help it along, nip the migraine and the sense of impending doom, regain energy and brain power, and how to shed the bloated beer gut. help??

I am day-33. Not very deep. I haven't got best of feelings yet and I don't know what those might be either. For initial 20-25 days, its was complete roll-coaster ride. I was not sure if I could last 1 week also, but kept faith and prayer and decided that whatever worse it get, still I would stick with being sober and see what exist at the end of tunnel. Thought not done, dont know how long and how far still to go but feel its getting better slowly. Hope its not that one of days when you feel good and next days is anything but worse!! touch-wood.

also , I had quit smoking going for 4 months+ And many times, I spent time thinking whats more worse withdrawal quit smoking or alcohol. I find no one is better yet, still battling!!!.

Hope and pray it gets easier for you(and me as well). my advice is just ride it out. We already know hows is life being alcoholic, now lets plan to see how it is when we are sober and out. I had gut feel that its way better than what we imagine!!

Don't rush it. 24 days clean after 48 months of heavy abuse and 15 years of drinking......

Your body is going through major adjustments so be kind to yourself. I'm 3 months in and I get days when I just veg out. But they are getting less frequent.

Hang in there. It does get better as some veterans will vouch for when they pop in

Welcome 142,

I hope you come back and read the advice here. I should add to talk to your doctor, and be honest.

And please participate here in SR! It's awesome that you have been clean so long--share your strength. It's easier to act your way into a new way of thinking than to think your way into a new way of acting. So even just once a day, join us here and do something like help someone who has fallen.
