Well..let's see..im 35..been a herion addict for bout 11 years.. on and off..im married but my wife is sober...she dont understand what im going thru..im trying my best to quit...i figured id try this online thing. Didnt know who else to talk to...i really dont want to go to a meeting.. i live in a small town..thanx for replying..lets me know thr is someone listing

I agree that our friends & family just don't get what we are up against. That's why it's so helpful to be here where we all understand each other, and don't judge.

My wife doesn't get it either. Originally it was the hardest undertaking I had ever been up against. Now a little over ten months in it has gotten easier but the constant vigil is still in place. I have admitted to ME that I cant control how much or how I act when I consume so then it is no longer allowed in my life. I will tell you it is a hard thing to do without you spouses support. But In the end YOU are the one in control of it. Some say they miss it some say they don't. I personally don't because I stand back and look at the positive changes in my life as a result on be sober (responsible decisions, being able to drive my children, attend school activities, pay bills on time, right down to not pissing people off with stupid comments, ect.) I think my point is keep up being sober it is so worth the changes in life.
