Hi, emmu, and welcome!

What is the "this" that you are hoping works? What is it you are trying to do?

Thank you all. What I mean by "this" is my trying to be sober. I'm positive I can do today, but tomorrow after work will be the big challenge. Stress and coming in and having a glass of wine BEFORE I change clothes is going to be a problem. Any suggestions? I probably should change first but that'll only take 5 minutes and then what? pray!

Welcome emmu. I drank all my life, & the people here helped me turn everything around.

When I was anxious and scared in the early days of quitting, I'd come here and post about it. You don't have to say much - we all understand what it's like in the beginning. It helps to have others to relate to who've been where you are. Glad to have you here.

Thumbs up

Day 2: night wasn't bad...hot, sweaty, cold, chilly. sometimes both at the same time. haha
i'm set to do this. today will be the challenge. home from work and routine of pouring a drink. I hope that routine is substituted with a healthy one. I'm going to try.

Hi emmu,

Glad you made it thru the night, you can do this. I had the same routine of pouring a drink when I got home. I made my decision to quit one night and the next morning I loaded up the car with all alcohol in the house and gave it a friend who could drink it responsibly. 15 days later I haven't had a drink, but if there was anything in the house in these 15 days, I would be on day one right now. Take care!

hi

Hi I'm only 7 days sober. I find that SR with AA is a good combo.
