Hi Everyone
Hi Everyone
Hi guys -
Just wanted to let you know that you have all been on my mind in the last 7-8 months. Even though I haven't been here in person, my mind has wandered to you all often and hoped for the best for you all.
I have been drinking again since around May or so, as bad as ever, and a part of me knows that I need to quit again, to give it another shot, but half of me doesn't care enough to give it a go. For those of you on the border, or just starting out, or wondering if it's worth it to stay sober I have to give you a word of encouragement: it's worth every stinkin', crappy, frustrating, and enlightening minute. I really wish I hadn't fallen off the wagon, but it happened nonetheless.
I just wanted to pop in and say that I miss you guys, hope to be back soon, and encourage the newbies, even though I don't have anything super constructive to say. SR has always been my one safe haven when all others have failed, and it's really nice to come back here and check in.

Josh,
If you were me, and I were in your shoes, what would you tell me? Would you care? If you do, and I do, what would you dig down and tell me? Would you accept me saying maybe one day, I hope to be back soon? Didn't you sometimes want to grab a poster and just shake some sense into them? Say tough things they need to hear but don't belong in our positive forums?
You are in a unique position Josh. You have posted support to others here, and felt the frustration of the single poster, never to be heard from again. Now you are in the position to tell one of those fence riders what they need to hear, and only what they need to hear, because that poster is you. I want to give you a big guy hug and say the right thing to help. But like we all try here, you have made it with us, and you can be your own crisis intervention, and do exactly what you need to convince yourself.
You are uniquely in a position to take care, from yourself. Take that care.

The most rewarding thing about
being sober is, you don't have to
drink again with a program of recovery
in place and incoperated in ur everyday
affairs. Once you've experience sobriety,
going back to the drink will never be the
same or what it was like before. Getting
sober screws up one's drinking career.
You have your whole life ahead of you
to enjoy sober. So many gifts await you.

I missed you when you stopped hanging around here Josh Your posts were really inspirational to me. I know you say you can't seem to care enough to stop but sober you is important to SR! I know how it feels, but knowing how you do what it's like on the other side... I hope you come back to us soon xxx
