Can Sober and Recovery be my Higher Power?
Sure
Are you looking into working the 12 steps?
All that is necessary is a willingness to believe in a power greater than yourself. You dont even need to have an understanding of what that power is to make a beginning.
Furthermore, atheists and agnostics have had success with the 12 steps. You may want to check out the secular 12 step section if you feel that you fall into that category.
Best wishes to you.

I truly believe that my Higher Power is frequently present in the hearts and minds of all the great people here on SR that share their experience, strength and hope so freely...
So yes... I might suggest that looking for your higher power here at SR might yield a more rewarding result than using SR as the higher power itself... The journey is what is important.

Anything can be your higher power....seriously anything. As long as you believe it is more powerful than you. I know people who have the following higher powers:
A pixie from a song that I have never heard of
A table
A door knob
As long as it keeps you sober.
Natom.
