It can be done!

But it does require action, it does require change.

After 30 years, I knew I simply could not go on one more day.

Alcohol, or more precisely, my continued use and abuse of alcohol led me to a darkness that I could not have imagined when I was drinking for all those years.

Acceptance, followed by action and real change has made the difference.

And gratitude, my friends, is a powerful weapon against the addiction.

I was a hopeless drunk, then a desperate chronic relapser. I am now a grateful alcoholic in recovery.

All the best in 2013, especially to those still suffering. There is hope!!

I'm living proof.

Congrats my fellow San Diegan!!! You should feel really proud of yourself!!!

I am just about a month behind you, 88 days today. We are off to Big Bear now for a few days of fun in the snow, skiing, tubing and playing in the snow with the kids will be much more fun without a hangover!!!!

I'm taking my son and some friends up there in a couple weeks. Something I've never done before. I was too busy getting drunk in years past.

I'm looking forward to it. My son has never seen snow!!!

We are having a blast!! There are lots of great cabins and you can get a pretty good deal if you call either Destination Big Bear or Cool Cabins. Also, check Craig's List and Groupon, they might have some good deals.
