Day 5!

Thanks to SR for helping me make it to day 5. Still having trouble sleeping and then trouble getting up but have a full day of working out, work, and a meeting planned. I will stay sober today

ddrayer, that is outstanding!

I hope the sleep issues start working themselves out very soon.

Hello My Friend,

Welcome to SR and Congrats on 5days!

Stay in the moment - one day at a time. Yesterday is gone and we cant worry about tomorrow until it gets there or here.

Put a list of things to do like you have and get them done. My list use to include stopping at Liquor Store - Not any more. I stop at an AA Meeting instead.

Good Luck!

Ive heard the ugly voice of temptation all day. Hate it. Feeling well enough to start thinkin about a drink again. I have a meeting in 30 min so hopefully that settles me down.

The voice will fade in time. It's early days yet for you. Fantastic job on staying off it for 5 days. We know how hard it is.

congratulations on 5 days ddrayer.

Ignore the voice...it's what we do in response that counts.
Going to a meeting sounds just right

Thanks all. Meeting was pretty good. I don't know how I feel about AA, but right now I know I have never taken a drink on a day I went to a meeting. For now that is good enough for me!

Thanks least. I'm starting to actually get the point of sobriety I fear the most! I'm starting to feel well again, and those thoughts of "oh you just over reacted" "you're not actually an alcoholic" start creeping in somewhere in the back of my mind.

I am devoted to staying on this site though and finding my way through this! I am so much happier even now. Not every moment, but enough of them to make a difference.
