An Epiphany?

I'm a few days in on my sober journey. This morning I have awoken with the thought that I really don't like the effects of being drunk.

This is an epiphany for me, because I have always enjoyed the mind altering qualities of alcohol. I'm not sure what triggered this, but I am thankful for this.

This time is different for me. Something is finally "clicking".

Good morning, FDM.

I think I know what you mean. During the last month of so of drinking I found that I didn't like it anymore, either. It was more of a compulsion than a desire for me, if that makes sense? My body didn't want any more, but my addicted brain ignored what "I" was feeling and kept right on.

I'm glad for your epiphany and hope it sends you sailing into the weekend feeling free!

Thanks Obladi!

I think the fog is lifting. I have also noticed that I pick up on smells and sights a bit sharper now. I don't get as frustrated with little things, and I don't feel overwhelmed and angry about multitasking at home lately.

I'm also thinking of cutting ties with some groups on Facebook and culling out some forums.
