Just a simple hello

Got to work today and decided I needed some serious ken time. So I took Thursday and Friday off. What the heck right?

Put in a little nurturing time with myself. Going to lunch with a friend Friday and dinner Saturday. They are close friends that I can speak about "the incident" with. Try to continue to sort that out in my head. The 9th will be a month.

Might catch a noon meeting. They can be more interesting for some reason.

And of course I have to come up with a new recipe somehow. Was thinking stuffed chicken breast of some kind or maybe Swiss steak. Something mom used to make. I also make a killer lemon poppy muffin.

Gotta take a joy ride in the new car as well. Though on Long Island there is never much joy in driving.

Hope you all are having a sober evening. Stay strong! Enjoy life!

P.S. - Henry my cat is sitting on the back of my big chair purring loudly. Never heard a cat that can purr this loud. He's way past cute at this point and approaching annoying. Oh well.

Ken, that sounds like a great plan. Good for you for recognizing that you need some time to yourself to help you sort through things.

You know that a purring cat can lower your blood pressure, so Henry is doing good work for you.

Time off was essential for me. I spent a lot of time in my bathrobe. Days. That was just the fight to stay sober. Now I am going through some kind of identity crisis. I can't talk to anyone really. I am having alone time no matter where I am or who I am with. Does that make any sense?

Happy New Year Ken! Glad you're getting some time to spend with friends to relax in the next few days. Congrats on making it through New Year's sober too.
Nothing like a purring cat-louder the better in my opinion

It does make sense. Sometimes I can feel alone in a crowd. Just my loneliness is that deep.so I understand in some way.

Glad you share here. Typing is easier than talking.

Dorris that was very sweet! Thank you.

I was never a smoker so I don't know what it's like to try and quit but I know it a challenge!

Put down the fag and no one gets hurt! Lol

So ya know I just had to look up Swiss Steak . Hungry now!

It's really important for me to recognize when I need "me" time or I need to "slow down to a gallop" as my mum likes to call it....and I don't apologize to anyone for this...I must keep myself centred.

I will do this for the rest of my days Ken.

As you know, cooking and my passion for food keeps my somewhat sane

Much love to Henry

HI Weasel Glad to hear you are taking some time for yourself. I took a personal day today and it was great. When I lived in LI I would take a road trip out to Montauk once each winter. There is barely anyone out there (used to be like that anyway, not sure how it is now). It was a great ride to clear my head and enjoy the drive.
