home detox nite one
home detox nite one
Good morning fellow alcoholics. I made it through the first nite. I'm freezing cold. Not much sleep. When I did sleep I had stupid dreams. But I made it. I am now on hour 36. Hour 12 of day two. I am off today so sleep is a good thing if my body will let me. I'm going to lay off the coffee and tea today. I'll drink water and try to eat lite.
Thanks to all who were worried about me last nite. I think I was more careful because of your advice. I slept with the door open and everyone in the house was on alert. I know this is the hard way but I don't have insurance and right now I have $30,000 in medical bills from last year.
Have a safe day
Love
Diana

I'm glad you're okay and that you have the day off. I'm just a day or so ahead of you and I feel pretty good. You probably need to rent movies and stay on SR.
Keep us posted! I'll be on and off all morning.

Interesting.
My wife and daughter wen't out of town for about a week over Christmas, leaving me with just my son. I had lots of quiet time and took full alcoholic advantage of it.
I also watched a fair bit of Netflix a couple of days. One movie I watched (with drink in hand) was "Everything Must Go" with Will Ferrell. It's the story of an alcoholic who losses his job, wife, and home. There was a segment in the movie where the lead character views olds family films and sees images of his father with drink in hand. Maybe I was just at the right point, but that really hit home. Is that how my kids will remember me?
I didn't quit that day, but I did soon after. I'm on only Day 3, so I have more questions than answers, but I do know that I can't let alcohol be a part of my life.

I had wanted to home detox my first time around but my doctor sent me for test and the results prompted her to advise me into actual detox. She felt it would have been too dangerous to detox myself at home. 72+ hours is when things can get really bad. Don't be afraid to go to the hospital if needed.

Congrats to all of you on making this decision to quit. Stay strong and things do get better. As you've already heard, please be safe with your detox and do not be afraid to go to the hospital if your withdrawl becomes bad.
