I have been on this board since 2006. My husband was addicted to crack. During our marriage he served 3 bids in prison for the felonies he committed to buy drugs. At his 3rd arrest, I told him we were through, and filed for divorce. He was release from prison Dec 2011; the plan was for him to go to rehab 6 days after the release. He never made it; died of a heroin/cocaine overdose.
I am now with a man who is not an addict. I always know where he is. My checking account and credit cards are safe. I no longer spend hours waiting and worrying.
If love could cure addiction, there would be no addicts. I hope everyone has a healthy, happy new year and gets the life they deserve.

I am so glad you posted and that your life is much happier and healthier today.
I am so sorry your husband died, this disease steals their souls then steals them from those who love them.
Merry Christmas to you and may the new year bring you many new blessings.
Hugs

Thank you so much for coming back and sharing. It really does help. I wish more posters would come back too.
I am sorry to hear about your (ex) husband but very happy to hear you that your life has changed for the better.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (and life) to you as well.
