When is a sip more than a sip?
When is a sip more than a sip?
It's been two weeks tomorrow since my harrowing day. A violent day under the guise of love.
The desire to drink has passed fleetingly a few times. Nothing lingering. I won't let it.
A sip, in my case, is more than a sip. If I have even one I am sending a message that what was done to me is ok in some way. That the hitting was allowable within the relationship between me, him and alcohol.
This used to be a threesome. Now it's not. And strangely I am not lonely without either.
I pick up my brand new car... Turbo white sporty and the works.... I could have gone for the middle aged red color but white seemed appropriate for the new beginning I am experiencing.
So please stay sober today... Tonight... This hour... How ever you measure... I will be.

Since we're talkin' cars...
I have a 2012 Nissan 370Z soft-top roadster. All black interior/exterior. 7 speed auto. Sport package. Bridgestone high performance low profiles on 19" RAYS superlight weight forged wheels. Sport brakes red calipers 4 wheel discs. Nav touch screen package. Super sound. Ventilated seats.
0-60mph 4.7 secs. 1/4 mile in 13.3 secs at 105 mph.
Awesome fun times machine.
Black is all that, lol.

Robby... take this in a good way... Somehow I can see you in that! Good for you! Sounds like a hot car! One that can get you in trouble.... again in a good way!
Just got it home and tucked in the driveway. Tomorrow I will explore the details.
It feels good to have something new to mark the biggest change I ever made in my life.

Okay, I guess driving a minivan doesn't score me any cool car points, however, the door that opens with the remote is very fashionable when trying to load three kids, soccer gear, and groceries.

Hmmm. I have a blue car I bought when I was still drinking; I have no idea if there's any symbolism in that, lol...
You sound awesome, Ken. Obviously enjoying the ride, both literal and figurative!
