OT: Finished!

It may be just a line or two, but I do remember posting that I was in the process of finishing a complete first draft of my dissertation last summer as I was going through a lot with my AD. Well, I just had to share that I sent the whole darn thing to my committee today, on this, the Mayan end-of-time! It seemed like it would be the end of time for me at many junctures as I struggled to be a PhD graduate student as a mom with two teen daughters, one in active addiction for most of it. What a journey. I will get their feedback by Feb 1 and defend Feb 28, and while there may be some bumps with my committee, it won't be anything compared to the work I have done on it so far.

Today I am especially grateful for the loving words of all of you SR folks, my NarAnon group, and my supportive family. Rededicating myself to completing my dissertation was one of the best self-care decisions I have made, and I leaned on the encouragement of many other people,as well as worked the steps for my own recovery. What a blessing you all are.

I wish you peace and happiness during this testy & dark season for many of us in recovery...we can find light and love so long as we keep our eyes open and our hearts receptive. Peace!

that is awesome! I am doing something similar and will be done in May 2014. Still aways to go and it's great to hear from someone that is close to being done!

What is your dissertation about? That is REALLY exciting! Congrats!
