Ultram

I have a sister who's addicted to Ultram, and it's caused her financial ruin. We've also found out some criminal behaviors to support her habits. My question is how can we help her realize that she's ruining the family and seek help? Do we really need for her to crash: physically and financially, before she will wake up? I think she's up to 15-20 a day!! Help!

The only way to make her realize that she ruining your family is by showing her the devasting it has and is causing. Make her aware of the physical consequences as well. Show her that you are willing to support her through the process of recovery. It's hard to bring an addict to these realizations and even harder to get them to change their ways without them wanting to themselves. Talking to her and sharing your feelings is important I feel.
