Hi,
My sister is an alcoholic. She went into detox a few days ago. She is ready to be discharged and going back to her home is not an option. It is heart-wrenching to hear her say that her husband doesn't ever want her to go home. It's not healthy for anyone in their family to have her there. I hear what he is saying that he can't do it any more-they have struggled with her drinking for many years. I know she needs to hit bottom and I want her to, but it is killing me to watch her go through this.

hugs. I went through a similar situation as your sister. I've made it, it's hard, but she can too. There is help available to her, is she inclined to take advantage of every opportunity and support for her sobriety? That would be to her advantage.

It's so very very painful and scary to watch a loved one going through this.
