Crazy dreams and waking up constantly through the night

Today is day 3 and I was so tired last night so went to bed pretty early at 9:30. Slept well for a couple hours and then woke up at least every hour after that. And during that time was having bizarre dreams, not bad just weird. Now I just feel really exhausted and need to get up for work. Ugh.

Any experience with how long this nonsense goes on for? I'd love to get some rest because I know it will help with my sobriety!

Congrats on day 3!

Everyone is different but what you're going through is normal. Probably doesn't make you feel any better but just know that you're not alone. We're all here for you.

If you keep feeling crappy, please see a doctor.

It's not nonsense, it's called drying out and it takes what it takes.

Then comes the living sober part ... for me that was the scary part.

All the best.

Unfortunatly there is no hard and fast rule, everyone is different .

In my experience it will get better and it happens quite quickly, first few weeks for me .

If it dosen't then a chat with your doctor will be in order, as really it is'nt worth risking your sobriety over is it ? as that will put you sraight back to square one with even more problems .

Clean sheets and long showers before bedtime helped as did avoiding caffeene drinks like cola , tea and coffee .

Day 3

Bestwishes, M

alcohol interferes with sleeping, your brain needs to relearn how to sleep.

give time time, rest and you'll be okay in time!
