26 Acts of kindness

Hello all--I just saw an article about this. It's a grassroots campaign spreading around the country and world to do 26 (or 27 or 28) acts of kindness in honor of the memory of all who died in Newtown CT. Reading about it had me in tears, well sobbing actually. This is what it's all about, helping each other, something SR folks do every day.

Just type 26Acts into search engine to find out more. Have a kleenex handy.

I was going to start this thread too!
I watched this on the news station (NYC) last night.
I'm thinking i might donate 26 cans of chicken noodle soup to the local food bank?

Fandy, it's really pretty amazing isn't it? I really sobbed reading it, when people help each other it makes me cry harder than sad stuff! I've been thinking about what to do, too. Don't have much money so am trying to be creative.

I love this campaign, too. I spent years thinking that I was just one person and have no impact on what are some pretty big problems, but the reality is that the small acts of many can and will have impact.

I've had perfect strangers say things to me so profound they have impact on me years later.

Life is so much better when we live in the solution

Isn't it amazing how one small act of kindness can have such a deep and lasting effect? And they tend to grow. If someone reaches out to me I'm more likely to reach out to the next person, and then they to the next and on and on and on. Kindness reaps kindness for us all.
