So in the past I've thought nothing of having 2 or 3 glasses of wine during the week to help cope with stress. 2 Weeks ago after having 3 glasses of wine I looked through my daughters Portfolio of work she had done at school for the year, full of photos of her and her work. I looked at it last night (sober) and it was as if I was looking at it for the first time. Didn't even recognise ONE photo!

And here I thought I was a better mum because I was calmer when I drank...when drinking really made me mentally not there at all.

It's nice recognising the benefits of my new lifestyle.

cant agree more...plus i would not stop after 2 or 3! I look back and realize that although i was there...i really wasnt. even if i wasnt drinking, i would likely be obsessing about it somehow.

i feel so much better to have turned the page...just have to keep working at it

awesome.......I`m only two days ahead of you.......wine is what I switched to 7 or so weeks before me quitting last Sunday......my thought was that wine is not really boozing....LOL

Yeah I think all the stress & anxiety I was feeling (thinking it was from such a busy lifestyle) was actually my obsessing with my drinking! Even when I would just drink weekends only, I was constantly thinking about it. Cutting it off 100% has alleviated so much of it.

oh my God, not at all my dear, I realized really quick that wine is as boozie as any other booze out there. As a matter of fact I chose it near the end because I was getting more mileage out of wine than beer..........nope. wine is booze alright.....LOL
