Hi,
This is my first posting. I happened to stumble onto this site when googling
"what celebs admit to being alcoholic"....somehow got into your forum and read the comments. I became interested in being part of a support group, so here I am! I enjoyed the various opinions. As for me, whoever wants to admit they are alcoholic (celeb or store clerk), is their way of staying sober...or in attempts to.
I guess whatever gets you through the night. I think everyone is doing the best they can with this disease, it can be tough!

Hi CD and welcome to SR. I found the site in a similar way looking for inspiring sober celebs. What a laugh! I've found more inspiration here with these regular folk (no offence!)

I think it's good to have sober role models. I like Craig Ferguson and Russell Brand, oh and Bill Hicks and Stephen King. There's loads of them out there. It's just good that it is out in the open and people talk about it because it tends to be very isolating being an alcoholic. Most of my role models are here on SR now though
