Finally foresee sobriety...forever
Hi All,
Just introducing myself. Had my last drink on December 11th (and saved the cap) with the intent of it being my last for good. I'm a highly functional alcoholic that woke up nearly a week ago and decided it was time to end the insanity. Classic binge drinker on weekends, business trips, and holidays since I turned legal age over 15yrs ago. Postcard family, beautiful wife, and two wonderful young kids. Prestigious job with an extremely bright future. However, addiction to bingeing and partying has clouded my judgement, caused pain and now some health issues, and been down right embarrassing...I have many, many stories. Am choosing self-empowerment with a strong support system in place. I think the important thing is that I have made this decision myself, I have been honest with myself for the first time, and am doing it now. Happy to be among the class of December 2012 and to have a cool sobriety date like 12-12-12!!!
