Stayed sober for my inlaws' visit
I made it through a weekend that was sober and fun with my inlaws which I was worried about. More worried about them getting on my nerves than drinking, but I had no temptation and liquor was flowing.
No one got drunk, and it was interesting to watch non-alcoholics drink normally. How do they do that?!!! I have no illusions that I can, and that is a blessing.
I was a good hostess and they had a good time.
PS They left like 4 kinds of liquor on my counter and this was the only time I have not sneaked and chugged the bottles when no one was around.

((Elisabeth)) - Way to go!! I know, for me, situations that I dreaded in early recovery often turned out not to be nearly as bad as I thought they would. Sometimes, they were downright GOOD!

Glad it went so well, and glad it's over so you don't have to worry about it anymore. Sounds like it wasn't as bad as you'd expected. Maybe in past years if you were drinking it exaggerated how they were getting on your nerves and now that you aren't it didn't feel as bad?
