Introducing myself
Hello there.
I thought that I'd introduce myself!
I'm from uk and am a 40-something female.
I've always 'enjoyed' drinking, but have become very aware of the fact that I am no longer drinking 'healthily'.
With 3 children, a fantastic husband, wonderful home...I have looked at myself and not very happy with what I see.
So - no more pretending, I have a problem and I need to fix it.
I've had many periods of not drinking (pregnancy, health fixes), but none of these resulted from my concerns over alcohol. I also totally believe that I'm an 'all or nothing' person.
So...here goes...almost through day 1. Looking forward to waking up tomorrow with a clear head and also with that delightful 'no guilt' feeling.
Nice to meet you all.

Welcome Changing! I wish I'd had the sense to realize what drinking was doing to me when I was your age. I went on into my 50's abusing alcohol and even becoming totally dependent on it at one point. You've made a wise decision - congratulations. We're glad to have you with us - this is a great place for hope and encouragement.
