I think I'd like to remind myself of at least one thing that stands out as a positive change, or positive attribute to not drinking. I'll remember that thing all day, and when I drive by my favorite bar and start to turn in on autopilot (like I did last night) I can remember that thing, and associate it's end with going to the bar. (FYI- I just started to brake, then kept going. It was a reflex. I did not go in.)
Today, I had to work very early and didn't get a lot of sleep last night. I'd left my sunglasses in the car and when I was leaving the building to go to the next building the early morning sun didn't burn my eyes and blister my brain. That was a real treat- welcoming the morning sun. I'll remember that gift all day.
