Day one...maybe

I've been reading this forum for a while, a voyeour if you will, not ready to commit to conversation....until now. The events of this weekend was the extra push to get me at least thinking about making real honest changes. Wishing to be sober is simply not enough. I think I am only ready to say hi and that I believe I can find hope within this forum. At some point I would like to throw out my situation, if only for myself to actually see it in words and not just my mind.
Thank you.

Welcome. I started out the same way. It has changed my life. Not instantly...it took a couple of tries until I was truly ready.

We will be here when you are ready.

Thank you both. Right now my chest is tight with anxiety and my mind is racing between my actions over the weekend and emotional thoughts about what the hell I am doing to myself and family...because I finally took what seems to be a small step by joining this board I will hopefully post more sooner rather than later so I don't lose my desire to change my life and habits.
Thank you thank you thank you!

Welcome to SR Sad3! Glad you decided to post. There is great support and wisdom on this website.

It couldn't hurt to reach out a bit, could it? Personally, you would help me remain sober by trying to help you in some small way.

Welcome Sad3-

Sounds to me like your standing at the turning point. I hope you choose the direction of recovery. Believe me, it is FAR FAR greater than where we were.

Your in the right place. Keep posting. It gets easier.
