Dreams
Dreams
I was a closet drinker for the last couple of years before I recently quit.
Last night I had the scariest/strangest dream.
I was watching myself sneak a drink like an outer body experience. I was yelling to try to stop myself from drinking but I was actually sneaking some vodka in my juice hoping that no one would notice. I was so upset watching myself in this dream, I woke up in sweats and shaking.
What does that dream mean? Anyone have that dream before, where you are out of your body watching yourself do something that you shouldn't be doing?

I have had dozens, if not hundreds of using dreams, and I think that pretty much everyone else here has them too. I don't think they mean anything, dreams are just representations of thoughts, they aren't fact.
You saw yourself drinking and felt powerless to stop, it seems reasonable that this reflects your mindset in real life when it comes to alcohol.

Had a similar one last night, my roommate was out for the night last night and in my dream he came home and was accusing me of drinking witch in the dream I was. I dont dwell on the dreams they get a bit funny in the first month.
Drinking dreams become part of one's life once sober. Most people have them. Mine are always that I'm still drinking, and hiding it from everyone in AA. And they're frighteningly real. They don't happen often anymore, but they still happen.

Most of my AA friends have had those dreams, I know I did. They get less as time goes along.
Perhaps God just gives them to you to make you think and communicate with the other alcoholic.
All the best.
