Thank you for the warm welcome. I was in rehab a year ago, but foolishly thought I could start drinking again socially and occasionally. That led to sneaking bottles in, black outs, and unknown bruises. Family couldnt take it anymore. I decided to seek help after a bad blackout where I was not consciously even knowing I was drinking. I fell into the tub, kids found me. Hubby threw me out for five days. Huge Awakening. The pain of losing my family made me realize my life was to beautiful for this. I got a second chance. I went to the Dr, told him I fell of the wagon. Got under his care. I did not want rehab again...it was not for me. This time I did not have physical withdrawals, had blood work which was normal, Began AA. I already have a red coin (one month). That is my story, just trying to figure out what sober ppl do for fun. I've tried to begin a fairly good hobby of cooking, I will straighten my hair, watch movies, clean, anything to get my mind off of it. I have social anxieties me and my son both have so I try to get out during the week and do something. I'm on Atabuse. I think this has saved my life b/c I was such an impulse drinker and I CANT STAND TO BE SICK so it's not even an option now no matter how hard I have a craving. I take it religiously every day. Just wanted some new friends who can relate and I can socialize with.

Awesome and Welcome Rockie

Funny I was just telling a story with some of my friends at a meeting last night. About when I was in 5 th grade, and I wanted to go see Motley Crue ... Shout at the Devil tour. I had to agree to go with him to a concert also. So we went , and I went with him to John Cougar Mellencamp.. They were both great show.. 5 th grade at a Motley Crue show , that makes me laugh now. I had no business being there. lol

Anyway good to have you with us..

lol India, that was the era where you could openly smoke weed and get a buzz just by BEING THERE. You are right you had no buisness there, lol. I'll never forget I saw skid row and bon jovi in 88 while in college. A man brought his wife and three pre teen girls! SAT RIGHT behind us! My then boyfriend now husband were so pissed that we just toked up right in front of them. We were like, well if you are stupid enough to bring young kids to a rock concert, this is what you get. LOL they didnt say a word to us. It was so rampant they couldnt do anything. Even saw a girl rolling and selling three rows ahead of us. Those were the days, now it is alot more strict. Wouldnt try it now. but it does amaze me when ppl take kids to a crue concert now. they have soft porn, foul language, and Tommy does a "tittly cam". Not real age appropriate!
