New Year, New Life!!!!
Hey Guys and Gal's. New to this forum. I've been a drinker for at least 7 years. Been through 2 community detox programs. I did have some good news today though. I have been offered a residential program starting next Wednesday. I'm so lucky to get in so fast. My liver is all screwed up, my blood is all beat up (platelets are down to 25) and generally feeling like crap!!!!
I'm gonna miss Xmas, my 10th wedding anniversary, New Year - but hey, if this is gonna save my life, I'm game!!!!
Wish me luck!!!!!!

Hi, Gibsteroony! Welcome to SR!
Good luck to you. I think sobriety and good health is the best present for Xmas.
My best wishes to you and keep posting)

Thanks a lot for the support guys and girls!!! I'm back home now and full of beans!!! One sad thing though, a guy left about 10 hours before me and when I went to catch the train I walked past a bar and he was sitting in the window seats totally arse hold!!! Such a shame really as another lost soul could have had his spot and would appreciate it. Such a shame as he seemed a nice guy!!! Oh well!!!
