60 days
Today marks 2 months sober. So grateful for this site and everyone that is a part of it. With the recent loss of someone close to me I decided to give AA another shot this evening so that i dont relapse and went to a great beginners meeting. I've had a couple failed attempts being to scared to walk into the AA room after going to some meetings that were not as welcoming. We talked mainly just about step one and I picked up a big book. I look forward to going back. It was nice being surrounded by sober people that have what I want. Grateful to be sober.
Oh Boozefree!! I am SO proud of you. I know what a struggle you have had with overcoming the anxiety about a meeting. What a huge breakthrough this is for you!!
I am so happy for you. Even through your pain and grief, your strength shines through. Your voice is clear and true and genuine. And so are you. You are to be congratulated for sixty days but even more importantly on this turning point.
Your post brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing this. Big hugs, EQ.

congrats on 60 days...the mind really starts to clear up doesn't it?!
it sounds like you are very grateful to have "gotten it", keep going to that meeting. you will meet people who you will grow to trust, and you will be able to help other newcomers.

Stick with AA!!!!! I have 129 days today through the Grace of God & the fellowship. GET INVOLVED! That is so very imporatant to me. I do what they suggested when I came in, I have a sponsor & a spiritual sponsor as well. I have a home group, coffee commitment. Get involved with the steps asoon as you can, don't let ANYONE tell you, you have to wait to get your "brains back" or "go slow go far". Give time, time. For some that works I guess. I have done a 4th & 5th step, then followed at once by a 6th & 7th. I am now looking at my lists of people I will approach over thext month or so with the help of both my sponsors. Work the STEPS. DO NOT LET ANYONE TELL YOU, YOU CAN'T UNTIL YOUR BETTER!!!!The only way to health in AA is through the steps. Congrats!!! Keep coming back.
