New

Hello all,
I'm new to this group and just wanted to say hi!
I am trying to stop drinking and attended my first AA meeting yesterday! The women were so warm and caring!
Any help or advice would be great!
Thank you

Don't change your sobriety date.

Get phone numbers and call those women, especially before you want to drink!

Welcome, and I'm glad you are doing well.

I found that changing my daily habits (ie where I shopped, my route home, etc) helped to get me through the early days.

Hi CodyBear -

Just know that we've all been there and needed lots of support to get through those first days. Things really will get better! You've come to a great place - welcome!

Welcome! I agree with getting phone numbers and calling women. That was so hard for me at first, but it really has helped me not only stay sober, but also to create meaningful female friendships. I was never fond of women as friends before and only had one or two. Now, I have women in my life that I really believe are closer than sisters/Mothers. Sobriety kinda rocks!

Welcome Codybear!

This is a great place to hang, read, post, chat and stay sober. I'm happy you found a meeting with some great gals. As each day passes by, you will be thankful you're not drinking. I'm looking forward to those days again because I don't want to go through the withdrawals again.

Glad you found SR!
