37 days sober
Today i am 37 days sober. I am a cocaine addict. I have never used this site before but already can tell that it could really be helpful. Yesterday i went to my first C.A. meeting, i honestly was really nervous as i am not a very outgoing person. But everyone was warm and welcomingg and i finally felt like i fit in somewhere. Just being able to relate and hearing that im not the only person thinking the same things as others. I have started morning prayers/ affirmations and nightly ones as well.
So does anyone have any tips for a new addict in recovery? Such as how to deal with extreme urges? Ways to relieve stress and what you do when your in a tense high stress situation? That would really be helpful?

I'm new as well. 45 days sobriety with booze. I'm in your same situation and I'm kind of nervous going to AA. I went to one a year ago and didn't feel comfortable. I need a support network though it's just too hard to manage alone.

Welcome Beckie and congratulations on 37 days!
Not being a very outgoing person is a bit of a theme here with addicts, we're obviously trying compensate.
As for tips, I'm only on day 21 so you're way ahead of me. But this site has helped me tons.

Beckieleigh, 37 days sober? You are FANTASTIC. Congratulations. I too am a cocaine addict but haven't used for 1 year and 2 months now. SR is a good place to hang, helped me a lot. Rootin for ya.

Thanks guys! I am feeling hopeful and proud today! Its def not an easy road but then again what in life is? Ha! Wow 21 days! That is awesome congrats
