Newbie here
When I was a teenager, I started using drugs and drinking. I was doing a lot of coke but really anything I could get my hands on. I've been "sober" for 8 years.
Recently though, I realized I've never been sober. I still drank an used hard drugs "recreationally". I'm now trying to kick a spice habit.
I haven't been clean in over a decade and I don't think I know how to be. I don't know how to live a clean life. :-(

Welcome!
You arent alone and most people here have felt how you feel...I know I certainly have. And yupp, once we clean up we are left to deal with the issues and (often) lack of coping skills and pain that got us in this mess in the first place. But it does get better, and easier, and you will be so happy you did it.
This site is great for support...keep posting and let us know how you are keeping.

Welcome Offthepole!
Good for you for getting honest with yourself - it's one of the hardest things for us to do! Glad you're here - it's way to hard for any of us to do this on our own.
Keep reading and posting!

Welcome to SR
I don't think many of us do - not at the start.
Learning to live sober is a skill just like anything else. We develop it situation by situation, one day at a time
there's a lot of support and encouragement here tho - you're not alone
