Progress

Hi All

Nearly Day 5..last nite was tough as went home in great mood as no hangover and everything was perfect - guess what - i start thinking I should reward myself with a nice bottle of wine since im so clever!..thankfully didn`t and pleased with myself today i didn`t! - hopefully not same situation tonite!

difficult to not drop into routine again even at this early stage

couple questions - i am so tired even though I am getting enough sleep - 7-8 hours on average

foggy - today i feel ok but its like im staring into space all the time behind a fluffy cloud..

puffy face - when is that gonna go!!! - sure i look better though, wish some bugger would say so though and give me self a boost!

Thanks for listening to me going on - feel better for that!

Congratulations on not getting that bottle and five days.
Fourth day was always killer for me.

Things will clear up with time. Your brain is used to having alcohol, but, the fog will lift.

Keep at it and let us know how you're doing.

Congratulations on day 5 -- I'm at day 3 and thinking 5 sounds far away. Last night i had this attack of the itches (has anyone else had that?), and then such strange dreams -- or more like visions, since i don't think i slept. i'm foggy and kind of goofy: everything feels kind of liking trying to write with the wrong hand.

don't buy any wine tonight, rainyengland!

Don't worry too much about being tired and foggy for now. It may last a few months but things for me got a little bit better all the time. It takes time to heal. On the plus side I think the puffiness can go down pretty quickly. I think mine was after only a couple of weeks. And I still notice improvements on that front months later. Well done on 5 days

I'm glad you're getting through this. Try to be patient as you begin to recover.

Great job to all in recovery. My day 27 and have been foggy and tired as well. I am having issues with dizziness---after a car accident that let me see that sobriety (which I wanted the past months) had to be my life choice. Happy to be sober. I have so many better opportunities now that I did not see before. We all do......

Good stuff for not giving in.

Foginess, tiredness, restlessness, weird dreams, concentration problems, anxiety, depression, feeling of grief, etc.

All normal in the first days/weeks. Nutrition is key. Gallons of water, anti oxidants, multi vitamins, veggies, fruits, proteins. Excercise big + also.

I am on day 48 and still having difficulty sleeping, but the foggy feeling is gone. I have been exercising and reading a lot. Going to attempt to go to sleep now.

Keep up the good work, you are almost at a week!!!

The first time I quit (really trying), I was on day 3 and was up at almost midnight itching SO bad! However, this second time around I didn't have that... good luck!
